Sound Meditations, Vol. 2

Sound Meditations, Vol. 2 is a collection of eight longer-form sound meditation recordings created for focus, presence, relaxation, creativity, and deep listening. Each composition runs between 12 and 15 minutes, offering nearly two hours of sound designed to support calm, reflection, and a more intentional relationship to listening.

The series can be experienced with headphones for a more immersive, detailed listening experience or through speakers to shape the atmosphere of a room. Each recording uses field recordings, acoustic instruments, synthesis, sound design, and psychoacoustic techniques to create a focused listening environment.

Each recording uses psychoacoustic elements including binaural beats, isochronic tones, bilateral panning, filtering, spatial effects, and entrainment techniques to help listeners settle in, focus attention, and tune into the present moment– from field recordings, acoustic instruments, synthesized, or sonically manipulated and deconstructed—reflect the natural world.

The various psychoacoustic techniques can include binaural beats, isochronic tones, bilateral panning, filtering, incorporation of spatial effects and entrainment.

Entrainment can play a role in how sound influences attention, perception, and relaxation. With the help of sound a listener can untether from their life story for a brief moment; all of the stresses, obligations, pain, concerns and emotions in order to gain some perspective. When we are able to breathe and listen with greater focus and awareness it can have a noticeable impact on our nervous system as well as our psyche. The end result: many listeners may feel calmer, more settled, or more aware after listening.— it's the confluence of sound and its effect on us, a greater awareness and breathing that influence the outcome.

How To Listen

These recordings can be used for meditation, focus, reflection, creativity, relaxation, or as part of your environment. Choose a recording based on the kind of support you want in the moment, then give yourself a quiet space to listen with attention.

Headphones can offer a more detailed and immersive experience, especially for recordings that use binaural beats, bilateral panning, or spatial effects. Speakers can also be used if you want the sound to shape the atmosphere of a room while you meditate, work, rest, or reflect.

You do not need a formal meditation practice. Simply let the sound become your point of focus, breathe naturally, and allow your attention to settle.
